We’ve spent the last few months doing up our book club web site to make it bigger and better than ever! We have lots of great new features as well as many of your favourite old ones so have a good look around. We’d love to know what you think so let us know on Facebook and Twitter

Make sure to check in regularly for all things books and reading related!

Little Readers

For the first time this year, Bord Gáis Energy are giving you a new way to share your love of books and reading with your children. To help you embrace reading with your little ones, we want to give you your child’s first book!

Why?

With so much to love about books and reading, we want to help you share this love with your newborns and young children. Reading is such an important part of so many Irish people lives and instilling this in your children from an early age will mean they can grow up loving books too!

To further support parents and children around the country, for every registration and book sent out, Bord Gáis Energy will donate €1 to Irish charity, Irish Premature Babies. Set up in 2009 by Allison Fegan Molloy, Irish premature Babies provides support to the parents and families of premature babies through multiple ‘buddy systems’, meet and greet sessions with other parents, workshops, awareness exhibitions, financial advice and support as well as initiatives on policy and advocacy for change among many other things. Every 116 minutes a premature baby is born in Ireland and Irish Premature Babies is fighting for them every day.

How does it work?

It’s so easy! From 25th August, if you’re a Book Club or Rewards Club member with a child in the 0-5 age range, simply register here and we will send you a reading pack for you and your little one to enjoy together. Your registration will mean that another euro is added to the fund going to Irish Premature Babies to make sure their essential work can continue. That’s it!
